Prototyping Urban Interfaces

Urban spaces are prime locations for the design domain of Media Façades. This term describes the idea of transforming the outer shell of a building into giant public screens. However, a systematic design process for the creation of these systems is missing that architects and designers can follow when being confronted with the task of creating these systems from scratch. The goal of this research investigation was therefore to create software and hardware tools intended to help prototyping these systems even on low fidelities and allow user participation in early design process stages.
